Michelin Plate Zest Restaurant Marks its 18 Year Anniversary
Zest Restaurant was one of the first places to introduce high-quality Asian cuisine to the local restaurant scene
As part of the Zest Flavours brand, Zest Restaurant celebrated its 18 year anniversary since its opening in July 2003 last month. The restaurant was originally built around the concept of ‘East to West’ flavours, but has now firmly established itself as a leader and pioneer for Asian cuisine in the local restaurant scene. Zest Restaurant continues to introduce innovative concepts to the Maltese Islands, such as its recent addition of Nikkei cuisine to the menu, which is based on a unique combination of Japanese and Peruvian flavours.
“Over the past 18 years, Zest Restaurant has evolved tremendously, moving away from the mezze-style concept towards an award-winning Michelin Plate restaurant focusing primarily on Asian and Nikkei cuisine,” says Erika Cassar Rouvelas, director of Zest Flavours. The restaurant received a Michelin Plate award in 2021 and is listed in the Michelin Guide for Malta, cementing its reputation as one of the most renowned dining establishments on the island.

Zest Restaurant forms part of the Zest Flavours brand, along with Zest Street Food – which focuses on take-away and deliveries – and Zest Occasion – the brand’s bespoke catering branch.
Zest Restaurant is open daily from 19:00 onwards and is located on the first floor of Hotel Juliani in St Julian’s. Zest Street Food is available for deliveries from 11:00 onwards and bookings and orders can be placed online at .
